Head of Music

Salary: Main / Upper Ranges + TLR 2B - £4,781 per annum

Full-time, permanent post

Required for start in September 2019

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and inspirational Head of Music to take a leadership role in this successful subject area, teaching throughout the age and ability range, including A Level.

You should be a skilled teacher, with the ability to foster excellence as well as participation in musical activities throughout the School. The ability and passion to deliver a range of afterschool and enrichment opportunities for students is essential, as well as the skills to co-ordinate effectively the school choir and music for internal productions and award ceremonies, as well as events within the local community.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to accept new ideas and a thorough commitment to student learning with evidence of high quality professional development and leadership skills. We want staff with the vision and determination to ensure all our students receive a first class education and who will rise to the challenge of building on success.

The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate the ability to implement curriculum changes efficiently and effectively, through gaining staff commitment and developing their knowledge and skill set to ensure students continue to progress, meeting or exceeding their own personal targets. Excellent organisational and management skills with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate both staff and students are therefore essential. Evidence of passion and drive for continuous improvement to lead our Music department onto further success will be paramount.
