This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving Science department which enjoys excellent outcomes. You will have full responsibility for organising and maintaining the College's Science Laboratories, Microbiology stocks and associated equipment. This will include preparing materials, chemicals and equipment for and during practical sessions within applied science. You will also be involved in providing support to students and staff in respect of any relevant training and operating equipment. You will be responsible for implementing risk assessments in the practical areas of the science department.

The successful candidate will provide support to the delivery staff and management in the Science Department. You will need to be flexible and have some previous knowledge of materials preparation, experiment preparation and equipment maintenance along with strict adherence to health and safety; It is essential that you can demonstrate good organisational skills and proactive thinking and planning.

You will have day to day control of the Science budget, ordering & expenditure using the college finance system where full training will be provided. Knowledge of CLEAPPS, COSHH and keeping of microbiological stock would be an advantage.
