Head of ICT Faculty
Main/Upper Pay Range (plus TLR dependent upon agreed responsibilities)
This is an exciting opportunity to join St Helena School in Colchester. To raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the Faculty and to monitor and support student progress.
The role will focus upon:
- The quality of Teaching and Learning
- Assessment and Monitoring of Performance
- Curriculum development at KS3 and KS4
- The professional development of staff.
Some of the key responsibilities are:
· Lead the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work and teaching and learning strategies in the department which reflect the school's commitment to high achievement through effective teaching and learning
· The day-to-day management, control and operation of course provision within the Department, including effective deployment of staff, budget and physical resources
· To monitor and follow up student progress
· Accountability for student progress and development within the Department across all key stages.

Information about the School
St Helena School, part of the Sigma Trust, is a highly-regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, recognised as Good by Ofsted in 2014 and now on a journey to Outstanding. Located on 17 acres in historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities and opened a £2.5m new Science block in 2015, and a £2.5m all weather pitch facility in February 2016.
On 1 September 2016, the school joined The Sigma Trust, a partnership of schools with The Stanway School, The Thomas Lord Audley School, Clacton County High School, Monkwick Junior School and Monkwick Infants School and Nursery.
