Our teachers must be enthusiastic, hard-working and show a genuine interest in working with pupils with special educational needs. They must be able to motivate the team of support staff that work with them and be committed to the whole school teamwork ethos. The school provides access to high quality training for staff.

This may be a suitable post for an NQT who is highly committed and experienced with SEN pupils.

Salary: Mainscale/UPS +1 SEN point (second SEN point dependent on advanced qualifications).

As a school we are committed to ensuring the welfare and safeguarding of all pupils. All staff will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

For further information about the post contact Jackie Mullan, Executive Headteacher or Louise Brown, Head of School.

Information about the School

SEN Trust Southend opened as a formal partnership on 1 September 2017. The four special schools, The St. Christopher School, Kingsdown School, Lancaster School and St. Nicholas School have always worked closely together to create a strong group of special schools which aim to meet the majority of needs of those pupils who require specialist support in a specialist educational school with Southend. We created the Multi-Academy Trust to help us continue this work.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
