Assistant Headteacher - Grove Wood Primary School

The Governors, staff and children wish to appoint a committed, enthusiastic and inspirational Assistant Headteacher to play a significant role in the Senior Leadership Team of our school.

The successful candidate will have a range of responsibilities and take a strategic lead in developing outstanding learning and teaching, overseeing curriculum innovation, leading on school based assessment and managing Pupil Premium.

Working closely with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team, you would ensure that the school offers children an engaging, creative curriculum and exciting learning opportunities. Essential strengths will include outstanding teaching skills combined with vision, creativity, energy and resilience.

Our children deserve the very best and this will be a demanding role, but you can also be assured of support at all times and a dedicated staff team.

This post provides an excellent opportunity for an outstanding practitioner wishing to progress into senior leadership or develop their senior leadership experience. The successful candidate will make significant contributions towards developing successful and motivated learners with a passion, energy and excitement for lifelong learning.

The postholder will not have class teacher responsibility but will have teaching commitment involving working with classes, groups or sets.

• Can inspire and lead our school to further excellence with vision and commitment

• Has experience as an exemplary and outstanding classroom practitioner

• Has knowledge and experience of assessment for learning, data analysis and rigorous school self-review and evaluation practices

• Has excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, motivate and inspire members of our school community

• Has proven experience of managing teams and leading whole school initiatives to raise standards

• Has the vision, energy and enthusiasm for this exciting challenge

• Values a fun and innovative curriculum and has experience of successfully leading curriculum development

• Has experience of working with pupils across the full primary range

• Will enable us to build upon our successes

• Has a commitment to their own professional development
