Band 2 to the mid point

30 hrs per week 38 weeks per year

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our dedicated team.

You will need to be:

• Educated to GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above.
• Have experience of working with a range of children.
• Possess good organisational skills and an ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Have the ability to interact positively with pupils, parents and colleagues.

Visits to the school are encouraged.

Monkwick Junior School is proud to be part of the Sigma Trust.

Monkwick Junior School caters for pupils aged between seven and eleven from the south of Colchester. The majority of children live in the Berechurch ward although an increasing number are now coming from outside the school’s catchment area.

Our school is organised into lower and upper Key Stage 2 phases and was two forms of entry. From September 2016 we now admit three forms of entry in to Year 3 which will result in the school expanding to meet a growing cohort.

At Monkwick Junior School the aim is to instil into each child a love of learning. There should be quality and equality in all aspects of the curriculum and we aim to do this by providing a purposeful, stimulating environment in which the children can become more independent learners.

The school is committed to high standards and to achieve these, pupils are involved in planned programmes of learning, catering for a range of ability and aptitude. Pupils enter with standards that are well below the national average and with many barriers to learning. Monkwick has established an effective Pastoral Team to overcome those barriers to learning and to support families and the community.
