Legra Trust (made up of three Academies, Belfairs, Cecil Jones and Darlinghurst) is seeking to appoint a Teacher of Geography to be based at Cecil Jones Academy.

Information about the School
Cecil Jones Academy opened on the 1st of September 2015. The Academy is part of Legra Academy Trust.
The Academy is situated in Southend on Sea, Essex and serves a community of about a four mile radius. The academy has six main feeder schools.
Today Cecil Jones is a thriving 11-18 school with 1,100 students. The academy’s intake spans the full ability range; the mean ability of the students is at the national average. All students enter the Sixth Form or attend further education and we aim for 100% of our student to go on to higher or further education.
Staff and students work together to create a positive learning atmosphere that ensures students learn and progress within a safe environment. Cecil Jones aims to provide a broad and in-depth education, nurturing students to become committed to, and equipped to live a full life in order to respect and participate in the world around them as well-educated leaders of the community. At Cecil Jones Academy the curriculum is characterised by an uncompromising adherence to excellence. All students follow a broad and balanced curriculum at Key Stage 3. At Key Stage 4 there is a core curriculum as well as an extended programme of optional subjects designed to allow each student’s abilities and interests to develop to the full. In the Sixth Form, students are offered a wide range of academic and vocational courses for in-depth study. A Cecil Jones education prepares students to proceed to the UK’s top universities.
