With the potential for a subject coordinator responsibility for the right candidate of a TLR2a - £2,731 per annum

We are seeking an outstanding and dedicated teacher of RE, philosophy & ethics

The King John School in Benfleet is a heavily oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive of over 2000 students, of which approximately 420 are in the sixth form. Based on 2017 results as a school our Progress 8 measure places us in the top 25% of the country and over 76% of our students achieved a standard pass in English and mathematics at GCSE (Grade 4 or above) and we are recognised by the Department for Education for our proactive promotion of the English Baccalaureate within our curriculum.

Our A-level results have been exemplary, with over 50% of year 13 students gaining A* - B grades in all of their subjects. The school enjoys an excellent reputation, having received a letter from the Director of Education in September 2017 commending the school on the 'fantastic' results that year. The school has also been graded at the end of September 2013 as 'Outstanding' across all key areas.

The King John School offers a high quality educational experience through a broad curriculum and a caring, friendly environment, and sets the highest expectations for all. Through high quality teaching and learning and exceptional wide ranging enrichment opportunities the school seeks to cultivate students' motivation, confidence and intelligence. The school strives to be at the forefront of school improvement and innovation and invests heavily in the creation of a learning community and to this end a new extension to the sixth form, humanities building and state of the art assembly hall have been constructed recently to accommodate the growing number of students wishing to join us.
