Assistant Caretaker
based at; East Tilbury Primary School & Nursery
Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, RM18 8SB
Pay band 3 point 8-16
Actual starting salary £15,420-£17,597
8.15 am-3.15pm Monday-Friday, (30 minute unpaid lunch break), 52.14 weeks per year - (Hours negotiable)
We are seeking to appoint a reliable, enthusiastic Assistant Caretaker to work in our school.
You will need to be flexible and willing to take on extra hours as required. These could include early mornings to open the school and prepare for the school day or working later in the evening to secure the site. The work is varied with general caretaking, maintenance and grounds maintenance, unlocking and securing the school.
You will need to have:
· enthusiasm for maintaining a school environment to a high standard to support children's learning
· the ability to use your own initiative and be able to prioritise your workload.
· an ability to work effectively as part of a team that looks after the safety and welfare of the site
· good DIY skills.
· a physical fitness to undertake some heavy lifting, moving and handling including general portage
· an understanding of the responsibilities around the security of a school site
· a willingness to participate in training and development.
· the ability to respond to call outs quickly and access the school site within a few minutes.

East Tilbury Primary School & Nursery converted to Academy Status in April 2012 as a partner in St Cleres Co-operative Academy Trust. We are a three/four form entry school in a semi-rural location, only a 5 minute walk from East Tilbury Station which is on the C2C Fenchurch - Shoeburyness Line. .
