32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (including 5 days during exam periods)
We are looking for a reliable, resourceful and hard working person to fill the role of Lead Teaching Assistant: Communication & Interaction (including Physical and Sensory Needs) within our SEND team.
In this role you will be required to support students in their learning, by having direct responsibility for the Communication team. Firstly, to implement and coordinate interventions for students with speech, language and communication needs and autistic spectrum disorders and secondly, to support other students within the SEND Department.
Your responsibilities will include:
To understand specific learning needs and provide differentiated support to students individually and within a group
Participate in planning and evaluation of learning with the teacher, writing reports and records as required
Physically assist students during activities e.g. swimming and PE
Support the SENDCo in providing Speech Language & Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autistic Spectrum disorder (ASD) provision for the academy.
Work closely with SEN Graduate Subject Specialists and teaching staff
Support the SENDCo in the managing of staff needs for the Communication & Interaction team
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working with children in a school setting however this is not essential as full training will be provided.
