We are looking to appoint a competent and enthusiastic person to assist the IT Manager in supporting students and staff in all aspects of ICT to enhance the delivery of teaching and learning. A

You will be expected to:

  • Operate relevant equipment/ICT packages (e.g. MS Office, internet, intranet, SIMS, e-mail)
  • Promote the effective use of IT equipment to staff and pupils.
  • Take primary responsibility for day-to-day problem resolution, including providing technical support and training for staff.
  • Develop a maintenance schedule for all computer hardware, software and networks, and ensure that it is followed.
  • Carry out troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and installation of IT equipment as necessary.
  • Be Responsible for changing backup tapes and restoring data from backups using Vertis and backupassist.
  • Keep up-to-date and provide support on the main software packages used within the Academy.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work flexibly, sometimes outside of normal core hours, in response to service demands as agreed with the Network Manager.
  • Provide technical assistance with procurement of hardware and software.
  • Be responsible for the Academy's CCTV system.
  • Be responsible for maintaining the Academy's phone system.
  • Ensure the correct disposal of damaged and un-repairable equipment.
  • Ensure an up to date inventory is maintained.
  • Comply with and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Undertake available training opportunities and demonstrate a commitment to continuous development.

EPAT is a cross-phase ‘Starter Trust’, providing high quality educational provision, standards and outcomes in local schools. It was formed on 1st February 2017, through a collaborative partnership between The Eastwood Academy (a secondary converter academy) and Bournemouth Park Primary School (a maintained primary school).
