Monday - Friday part-time - pro rata
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our hard-working and friendly team on our journey to becoming an Outstanding school. The successful candidate will need to hold at least GCSE grade C in English and Maths and NVQ level 2 or equivalent qualifications in supporting/working with children, and have experience of working with children with special needs e.g. Autism, Downs Syndrome and physical disability.
The duties include supporting within the classroom, working with pupils individually or within small groups, supporting the pupil's developing social skills at playtimes. Willingness to undertake intimate care, including support with toileting and swimming as well as attending to their medical needs is essential.
The successful candidate will be: · Resilient and positive, showing initiative and flexibility · Able to work as part of the whole school team and follow directions from the class teacher · Confident with supporting children to access curriculum · Firm and consistent but fun · Approachable, patient and understanding · Have a good sense of humour.
