16.25 hours per week, 39 weeks (term time) - Monday to Friday 8.45am to Midday
We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with social, emotional and mental health issues.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour in a school/early years environment
- An understanding of strategiesd to support pupils with social, emotional and mental issues including first and then visual, visual timetables, reward charts, managing own work station etc
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Basic knowledge of first aid and a willingness to work with children with medical and other needs
- Knowledge of basic ICT to support learning (including use of Word, PowerPoint and use of internet)
- Good organisastional skills with the ability to be flexible and work well as part of a team
- An empathetic, kind and caring nature
- To attend to pupils' personal needs including help with social, welfare and health matters, including minor first aid
