SEND Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

16.25 hours per week, 39 weeks (term time) - Monday to Friday 8.45am to Midday

We are looking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil with social, emotional and mental health issues.

Ideal candidates will have:

Experience of working with pupils with challenging behaviour in a school/early years environment
An understanding of strategiesd to support pupils with social, emotional and mental issues including first and then visual, visual timetables, reward charts, managing own work station etc
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Basic knowledge of first aid and a willingness to work with children with medical and other needs
Knowledge of basic ICT to support learning (including use of Word, PowerPoint and use of internet)
Good organisastional skills with the ability to be flexible and work well as part of a team
An empathetic, kind and caring nature
To attend to pupils' personal needs including help with social, welfare and health matters, including minor first aid
