We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual, who is organised and experienced in childcare. The ideal candidate will work with children aged 4-11 years & lead a team of playworkers. As this is a full time role, the working hours will be 7.30 am until 9.15 am & 14.45 pm until 18.00 pm, Monday-Friday with an additional 9.5hrs per week for planning, preparation and administration during school term time and Holiday Club that operates between 8.00am until 5.00pm during school holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To manage and oversee the running of the Out of School Club, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children that attend
  • To lead and manage the team of staff working in the Out of School Club
  • To lead and develop quality play and activity opportunities ensuring the engagement of all children specific to their individual needs
  • Enforce and implement all Club policies and procedures, the implementation of playwork principles and general childcare requirements
  • To take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to ensure children are fully safeguarded
  • Purchase and monitor food supplies

Essential Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualification related to playwork or children's care, learning and development or equivalent qualification

Desirable Requirements:

  • Has a valid Paediatric First Aid/Food Hygiene qualification, or is willing to undertake qualification
  • Has relevant supervisory and management experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
