Caretaker
(Start date negotiable to allow for notice period and transition with incumbent post holder.)
LG Band 3, starting Scale Point 17 (FTE £19,529)
Full Time (Includes School Closure Periods)
Working Hours 07:00-10:00, 14:00-18:00
There will be a requirement to occasionally work outside of these hours to accommodate the needs of the school.
Due to the retirement of our long standing Caretaker, the Governing Body and team at St Andrews are seeking to appoint a replacement who will continue to ensure we provide a safe, clean and pleasant environment in which our children can learn. The ideal candidate will be friendly, hardworking, reliable and self-motivated. They will set themselves high standards to ensure the operation of the schools' buildings, grounds and equipment facilitate the smooth running of our school.
Among the duties included, the successful candidate will be able to undertake cleaning, furniture removal, decorating, heating plant operation, basic repairs and maintenance and supervision of the cleaning team and also liaison with external contractors on site.
The ideal candidate will have relevant work experience and be suitable to work with children. You should be familiar with both Health & Safety legislation and COSHH requirements and additionally be educated to English and Maths Level 2 or equivalent.

Thank you for your interest in the position in our school.
St Andrew’s CE Primary School is situated in the village of North Weald, close to Epping. There are currently 361 pupils, age 4 – 11 years on roll plus a pre-school with 16 places for 3 to 4 year olds. The majority of our pupils live in the village of North Weald.
Class teachers are supported by a very experienced team of Learning Support Assistants, and HLTAs who also take on additional responsibilities within the school. We have an experienced SEND team who provide invaluable support for our children.
At St Andrews we are very proud of our inclusive, Christian ethos. We Believe in Friendship, Inspire Courage and Achieve Confidence.
Our last Ofsted inspection, in July 2023, judged our school as continuing to be Good in all areas. Whilst our website is very informative and will give you a flavour of our school, I would welcome visits to see the school in action.
