The Boswells School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of English. We are looking for the successful candidate to deliver high quality English lessons to develop an already strong provision within our English faculty. For the successful candidate, there may also be an opportunity to teach Media Studies at Key Stage 4 and/or 5, although this is not essential.
You will be joining a school with enthusiastic and dedicated leaders at senior and middle leadership levels and a commitment to the professional development of staff. The Boswells School is keen to embrace an approach that is centred on teaching and learning and the academic attainment for our students. English is a vitally important element of our curriculum for all our students and this role has arisen following an increase in the curriculum hours we have allocated to English across the school.
The Boswells School is an 11-18, very successful, popular and oversubscribed school in the Springfield area of Chelmsford, Essex. We have achieved record GCSE results for the school in the last 3 years with 71% of our students achieving a grade 4 or above and 53% grade 5 or above in English and Mathematics last year. Our sixth form is also thriving and results in this area are also well above both Essex and National averages.
