We require a caretaker and maintenance person to work 4 days a week at our school. This role is throughout the year with 4.6 weeks x 4 days = 18.4 days holiday being taken during the school holidays. Part time staff are entitled to pay for an appropriate proportion of the bank holidays.
The hours for work are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 7.15am -3.15pm with a 30 minute unpaid break during the day.
The role requries someone to :
Unlock the gates and school in the morning and lock the gates in the afternoon
Keep the staff and pupil facilities to a high standard
Complete any redecoration or maintenance work as required, including putiing up shelves and noticeboards, painting, attaching safety features around the school.
De-ice the school grounds in times of poor weather
Empty playground bins and put the bins out for collection
Work with contractors to maintain the site to the highest standard
Use the Every, premises management tool, online to record jobs completed and access a work list
You will need to be in good health due to the physical nature of some of the work and have a flexible approach to a variety of tasks, whilst understanding the need to prioritise workload, to ensure good risk management in a school environment.
As this vacancy has a local government contract the successful candidate may be subject to 6 months probabtion. The line manager will work closely with the caretaker to ensure that work is correctly prioritised and completed to the highest standard.
