Teacher of Resistant Materials/Design Technology

Looking for a change to mainstream? We require a full time teacher of Resistant Materials to join our 'Good with Outstanding features' Alternative Provision, at ourLangdon Hillssite in Basildon.
Our Service provides education for young people who, for a variety of reasons, are unable to access mainstream education.
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Resistant Materials teacher who is QTS accredited and able to deliver engaging Resistant Materials lessons to KS3 and the GCSE Resistant Materials course to KS4. A suitable candidate will be knowledgeable in manipulating timbers, boards and plastics, using hand tools and machinery.
Experience of some CAD-CAM as well as basic electronics would be desirable to enhance the 'design and make' process.
The successful candidate should be able to adapt and plan lessons effectively to accommodate the variety of educational needs in the centre.
They should also demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills, creative and flexible teaching, and a desire to ensure that all of our young learners achieve the most successful outcomes.

Information about the School
The Children’s Support Service is a short stay provision (PRU) in Essex. We have two main centres covering KS2-4 (in Wickford and Basildon) as well as an Outreach Service which works to support students, staff and schools in the local area, with bases in Basildon and Harlow.
Most of our students are referred to us due to difficulties they have faced in school; many come with additional needs and require academic, emotional and social support.
We offer a wide range of subjects, including the core curriculum, as well as enhanced activities to provide an enriched learning experience. We collaborate with schools and professionals who need our support, and aim to reintegrate students back into mainstream education or prepare them for other lifelong learning opportunities.
