Learning Resource Centre Manager (Part Time)
Band 3 mid (Actual range £15,246 to £17,260 inc. Outer Fringe)
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only
(8am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.30pm Friday)
A vacancy has arisen for a confident, self-motivated and passionate individual to run our Learning Resource Centre. We are passionate about reading and literacy at JHS and are looking for someone who has shares that enthusiasm and has the ability to engage with our young people, capture their imagination and fuel their desire to read and expand their literary knowledge.
You will be responsible for the smooth running of the Learning Resource Centre and managing a small team of a library assistant and volunteers. Additionally you will be responsible for raising the profile of the library and promoting the accelerated reading programme across the school. Organising events, readings and book launches that will engage the students will be fully encouraged and supported.
Previous experience working within a school environment is not a requirement, however, a love of literature in all its forms and an ability to share that enthusiasm is essential. Good IT skills are required, preferably with sound experience in Word and Excel.
You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a positive approach to working effectively with all members of the school community. This is a public facing role, so fluency in English is essential.
