About the team
Harlow College provides training to people looking to work in the private security industry across the East and South East of England. We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and talented Trainers able to deliver the L2 Award in Door Supervision and Physical Intervention. If you are interested, or would like to know more, apply now!

About the role

  • Deliver high quality training sessions
  • Develop teaching materials and adjust available materials for delivery to students
  • Review progress, assess student work and provide feedback to students
  • Maintain and accurately record attendance
  • Actively participate in quality assurance and improvement processes
  • Keep accurate records in accordance with the requirements of the awarding bodies
  • Ensure Additional Learning Support needs are supported
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of vulnerable adults and young persons you are responsible for, or come into contact with.
  • Participate in team meetings and staff training and development as required
  • Participate in continuing professional development
  • Work in accordance with the College's policies and procedures
  • Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required
  • Provide evidence of registration with HMRC as self-employed

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification: e.g. Level 3 PTLLS/AET; Level 4 CTLLS/CET; Level 5 DTLLS/DET; CertEd; B.Ed.; PGCE or equivalent
  • Hold the following qualifications:
  • Unit 3: Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
  • Level 3 Delivery of Conflict Management Training (NQF/QCF/RQF)
  • Have a minimum of 3-years' frontline operational experience gained in the UK
  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths or a willingness to achieve within a specified period e.g. Functional Skills Level 2; GCSE/O' Level English or Maths at Grade C or above.

Desirable:

  • Previous teaching experience, particularly Level 2 Award in Door Supervision courses.
