11:30 - 14:00

5 days a week - (12.5 hours a week)

We are looking to appoint a leader to supervise and manage our children's lunchtime, in the dining hall and outdoor/indoor play.

Lunchtimes at Cann Hall Primary School are very busy and demanding, so it is important to have a team that puts the needs of our children first, with a very flexible approach to the working day.

The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising the Midday Assistants in the dining hall and those on the playground (indoor if adverse weather). We are very proud of the range of facilities and activities available to our children at lunchtimes. The successful applicant will be proactive in their role modelling active play, building positive relationships with the children and the team, and will adopt a nurturing approach in managing children particular those that are vulnerable and have particular needs. They will have excellent communication skills in order to liaise effectively with key members of school staff.

Our school meals are fantastic and we encourage all children to have a good, nutritious meal whilst demonstrating good table manners and respect for their peers and all adults in the dining hall. The Midday team working with the Catering team to ensure a streamlined approach, will be pivotal to the success of this role.

Areas of play are structured and varied to ensure the activities appeal to all our children/age groups. We encourage our children to join in the activities, whilst learning the importance of team play and developing social skills. The Midday Assistants play an important part in supervising and guided planning of playground activities.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed, to arrange an appointment please contact Mrs Cris Edwards on 01255 420603.

Information about the School

Cann Hall Primary School is a two-form entry school catering for children from 4-11.

We know that effective education is the key to securing promising futures for our children in what continues to be a fast changing world, where jobs and careers are increasingly global rather than just local or national. Many of these jobs are yet to be created or imagined. Knowledge and skills do not stand still and no nation on the planet can afford to be complacent in a worldwide competitive environment.

As a school we know this means we have to keep moving forward – keeping children equipped with the latest skills and knowledge they need to succeed and a love of learning, so that we can prepare them really well with all they need before they move onto secondary education.

Our children are happy, behave well and love their learning and develop effective knowledge, skills and attributes that enable them to be confident, responsible and compassionate whilst developing a respect for humankind and the world in which we live. We want every child to have the core skills of literacy and mathematics mastered and learnt through a rich and creative curriculum that encompasses science, technologies, humanities and the arts. In addition, we have a rich extra-curricular programme and facilities for ‘wrap around care’. In short, we want to create a learning community that has every child skipping through our gates each day!

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
