Mistley Norman Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic HLTA to join our team.
The position is for 30 hours per week (8.45-3.15) Monday to Friday including a half an hour lunch duty.
Your role will include delivering lessons that are planned by and with the Class Teacher, supporting Teachers and working with groups of children.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Been educated to GCSE level in English and Maths (grade C or equivalent) and hold a relevant HLTA training qualification or equivalent
- A positive attitude, along with a good sense of humour
- Good communication skills, patience and being motivated to encourage pupils to achieve to the best of their ability
- A commitment to raising standards
- Be able to use their own initiative
You will be expected to:
- Take some responsibility for the progress of identified pupils
- Undertake training as required
- Keep up to date with changes and developments in education relevant to the role
- Cover lessons when required
- Work in collaboration with other colleagues
- Promote the values and ethos of our school

We are a small village school and have a rural location just twenty minutes from Colchester. We are an academy with the Vine Schools Trust and so have the support of the trust and of the diocese.
