Situated next door to the Barnes Farm Junior School it offers excellent, well-resourced facilities set in a thriving and popular suburb of Chelmsford city.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an exceptional new leader, with the vision to inspire, motivate and build on the success of the school to date. You may be an existing Headteacher looking for a new challenge or a Senior Teacher, with experience of whole school leadership, ready for your first Headship.

The school has a remarkable ethos of committing to providing a secure and happy environment where all pupils will have the opportunity to develop full potential. It encourages all pupils to be self-motivated, self-confident and self-disciplined in order that they will strive for the highest possible standards of work and behaviour, and to develop lively, enquiring minds with the ability to question and discuss rationally.

The school provides an excellent range of interesting and imaginative activities that contributes to pupils' good progress and enjoyment of school. There is a strong emphasis on promoting their all-round development, including their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (Ofsted 2014).

Barnes Farm Infant School offers you:

  • a hardworking and talented body of teaching and support staff
  • an active and supportive Governing Body
  • collaborative working partnerships within a network of local schools
  • parents who are overwhelmingly supportive of the school, interested in what goes on and support their children's learning at home conscientiously (Ofsted 2014).

We are looking for a Headteacher who:

  • has a proven track record of leading the development and maintenance of high-quality teaching
  • can demonstrate determination, imagination and commitment to sustained improvement, with a clear vision of how the school will deliver the best academic and social outcomes for every child
  • promotes respect and collaboration between children, staff, parents and Governors by building, supporting, motivating and working as part of a high-performing team
  • has a strong commitment to safeguarding
  • utilises strong communication skills and develops new resources to further improve and extend the school's programme and activities.

Visits to the school can be arranged for 26th June - 7th July 2017 and are very strongly recommended. For more information and to book a visit, please contact Louise Draper (Office Manager) on tel: 01245 467 474.
