The Finance Office provides all the required finance service to allow the school to operate.

There are currently 2 staff who provide these services. The school acadamised at Easter 2013. Since that time it has been responsible for all aspects of its own finances. It will also shortly oversee the operation of a local primary school as a Multi-Academy Trust ("MAT"). The post is to provide services across the MAT.

Particular duties are likely to include:

Collating of invoicing for payment, receiving money, cash handling, inputting orders, filing, checking deliveries, administrative support to the management of the school premises. To provide other administrative services as required to support the school operation. The duties outlined may be varied to meet the changing demands of the school at the reasonable direction of the Headteacher.

Skills - Technical:

Experience of working in a busy and at times pressured environment is desirable. Experience of working with school finance (FMS) is desirable but not essential, together with experience of Microsoft Office and email systems. Work must be accurate and, if required, completed to deadlines.

The school is committed to training and staff development, and will support the appointed person in the development of new skills as required. A degree of physical fitness is required. (e.g. lifting boxes of paper, checking/sorting deliveries of goods)

The working hours will be 25 hours per week: 10.00 am - 3.30 pm Monday to Friday for 39 weeks per year, with 30 minutes for lunch. These are normal school days (term time) and training days. Holidays would be expected to be taken during school holiday periods.

There is a smart dress code for staff.

Pay:

The pay is the equivalent of £16,781 pa. However as the job is only term time the pay works out at £8,481 pa. It is Band 2 mid-point on the Essex local government pay scales. There would be progression to the top of Band 2

The school will carry out an enhanced DBS check and medical screening as a condition of employment and the successful candidate must be prepared to be deployed across the MAT as required.
