DEPUTY MANAGER - EXTENDED SCHOOLS
SEPTEMBER 2017 START - LG LEVEL 5 (PART TIME) £8,612.93 p.a.
Chalkwell Hall Junior School is a happy, highly achieving school with well-behaved children and friendly staff.
We are looking to appoint a Deputy Manager to assist the Manager with the running of our popular After School Club.
Do you have a Childcare qualification and experience working with children? If so, we want to hear from you. The hours will be 2.00pm - 6.15pm Monday-Friday, term time only. You will need to cover in the Breakfast Club too in the event of staff absence.
Responsibilities include:
Helping the Manager with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.
Assisting the Manager with the administration of Extended Services clubs.
Providing comprehensive care for the children including registering children on arrival and delivering them safely to parents/carers.
Providing support and supervision to play workers and volunteers in the absence of the Manager.
Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.
Administering first aid when necessary.
Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.
Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation.
Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.
Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.
Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.
Desired Qualities:
Experience of working with 3 to 11 year olds
Appropriate Level 3 qualification
Experience of administration
Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
Understanding the issues involved in the delivery of quality play care
Understanding the issues of equal opportunities
Provide and facilitate safe and creative play
Good communication skills
Ability to work as a team member and demonstrate leadership skills
Sound judgement and common sense
Experience of working within a play-based setting
Competent in using IT to support play and club administration
Ability to work on own initiative
Appropriate child protection training
Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Food Hygiene Certificate
