has availability for
TWO Learning Support Assistants
Permanent Part Time
1 Post required as soon as possible
1 Post to commence on 4 September 2017
Both Posts are Band 2 Mid Point 14 - 16
37 hours per week - 39 weeks per annum to include Inset Days
To further enhance the achievement and learning of students at Langham Oaks School we are seeking individuals with a genuine desire to work with young people from challenging background and complex needs with a SEMH setting.
Your role will be supporting the learning of students in dedicated lessons following the KS2 - KS4 curriculum. You will support the class teacher to ensure that all students are able to access the learning within the school.
Your specific duties will include:
· Facilitating 1:1 numeracy
· Supporting 1:1 and small subgroups in order to ensure that individual barriers to learning can be overcome
· Acting as a critical reviewer providing guidance and feedback so that students can seek out innovative ways to improve their work and underlying knowledge
· Engaging and inspiring students in order to enable them to gain a greater understanding of society
· Within the classroom setting you will support the students with literacy and numeracy to ensure that they are best equipped to gain the maximum accreditation from their work
· Take an active role in managing pupil behaviour
Within the wider life of the school you will be contributing in various ways to the holistic development of young people.
