Required for 26 June 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Band 2/3 point 11-17 (£15,507 to £17,547) depending upon experience and skills.
37 hours per week over split shift, 52 weeks per year.
Includes 4 weeks paid leave plus public holidays (holidays to be taken during school closure time).
We are a small friendly special school looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and capable caretaker to join our staff team.
Ability to work on your own initiative as well as being able to communicate well with staff, children and visitors is essential for the post. You will need to have proven maintenance skills, be willing to undertake a wide range of tasks, including DIY and general maintenance, re-decoration, cleaning and porterage. You will be required to open and close the premises daily (early start 7am). You must also be able to work additional hours in the evenings and some weekends, extra payment will be made.
The caretaker is responsible for ensuring the school buildings and premises are maintained to a high standard.You will work closely with the business manager to identify and manage cyclical and on-going maintenance priorities that ensure the safety of the site at all times. It is a varied and busy role requiring flexibility, adaptability and a "can-do" approach to all tasks.

Information about the School
Kingswode Hoe is a special school for pupils with complex learning difficulties. We take pupils aged between 5 and 16 (Y1 - Y11) living in the Colchester area. All pupils are admitted to the school by the Statutory Assessment team of Essex Local Authority based at Essex House in Colchester. We are currently funded for 151 places.
