This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teacher of Maths looking for career progression to take on the role of either Key Stage 3 or 4 Co-ordinator depending upon skills and expertise. The post holder will have high standards and make a significant contribution to the ongoing development of the new GCSE curriculum, as well as raising standards and developing staff within the faculty.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to implement curriculum changes efficiently and effectively, through gaining staff commitment and developing their knowledge and skill set to ensure students continue to progress, meeting or exceeding their own personal targets. Excellent organisational and management skills with the ability to lead, inspire and motivate both staff and students are therefore essential. Evidence of passion and drive for continuous improvement to assist in the leading of our Maths faculty onto further success will be paramount.

Faculty GCSE results have been very encouraging in the last few years (69% A*-C in 2015 and 70% A*-C in 2016) and there has been a significant increase in the number of students choosing to take A Level Mathematics which reflects our popularity and examination success in recent years. The ALPS (A Level Performance System) rating for the school is Grade 4, being rated in the top 40% of schools in the UK.

Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to accept new ideas and a thorough commitment to student learning. Experience of teaching to A Level would be advantageous but not essential. We want staff with the vision and determination to ensure all our students receive a first class education and who will rise to the challenge of building on success.

In return the successful candidate can expect:

  • Comprehensive tailored induction programmes
  • Outstanding Teacher Programmes
  • An extensive support programme, including a system of twilights
  • MA courses
  • Commitment to continuing professional development
  • Excellent career development opportunities
  • Various staff benefits including access to the gymnasium and swimming pool
  • You would be joining a 'Good' school and a faculty passionate about their students and about those students succeeding and achieving their 'Personal Best'.
