P.E. Lead

Job Description

Bournemouth Park Academy are looking to appoint an experienced Primary Physical Education Lead teacher to join our enthusiastic and motivated staff. PE & Sport is a key priority at our school and we are proud of the range of sporting opportunities and quality of provision that we offer. This is a new post which going forward will enable us to further strengthen the quality of PE which we provide at the Bournemouth Park Academy.

We are looking for someone who:

· Is a rigorous and effective teacher

· Has a proven record of teaching that enables good pupil progress

· Has experience of PE Subject Leadership

· Has an excellent understanding of Inclusive PE, Health and Well Being

· Has experience of organising and evaluating Intra and Inter Competitive programmes

· Be fully committed to raising attainment for all pupils

· Is a team-player with drive and enthusiasm

· Is dedicated, energetic and proactive

· Has good communication and inter-personal skills.

Successful candidates will:

· Lead, develop, support, and be accountable for a Physical Education across all age groups

· Lead, develop, support, be accountable for a high quality PE curriculum

· Ensure teaching within the PE Department is of a consistently high standard

· Ensure pupils are motivated and engaged by sports coaches and teaching staff and that progress is being achieved

· Work alongside the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that sports premium is have a full impact on all pupils

· Work with gifted and talented pupils to enhance their opportunities in the sport

· Ensure that the PE Department is meeting the needs of all pupils, providing the appropriate challenge and support

· Support the Sports Coaches in their lead responsibilities of Inclusive PE, Health & Well Being and Intra/Inter Competition

· Deliver CPD for school staff as appropriate

· Support delivery of extra-curricular activities

· Maintain exemplary standards of organisation, teaching, planning, time management

· Be responsible and accountable for the deployment of staff and ensure the PE Department runs efficiently and effectively to ensure good pupil outcomes

· Be hard working, committed, flexible, with a great sense of humour!
