The Stanway Federation Academy Trust comprises The Stanway School, Thomas Lord Audley School, Monkwick Junior School and Monkwick Infant School & Nursery.
The Stanway School is a heavily over-subscribed 11-16 comprehensive school with 1166 students, the vast majority of whom live in Stanway and the surrounding villages to the west of Colchester. This school is now in its eighth year as a specialist school in Humanities and In April 2009 we were awarded a second specialism for Maths & Computing. During this period we also undertook a £14M rebuilding programme.
The Stanway School converted to academy status on 1st March 2012 and we are a member of The North East Essex Education Partnership (NEEEP), an umbrella alliance of seven convertor academies based in Colchester and Tendring, which exists to support its member academies in enhancing the opportunities and outcomes for their pupils and staff
We are the lead school for the Colchester Teacher Training Consortium, which has been in existence for the last 10 years. Every year this enables us to appoint high quality, newly qualified teachers from our own pool of expertise. We are also a member of the recently formed North East EssexTeaching School Alliance (NEETSA).
