Already a popular, thriving school of 315 pupils in the heart of Tiptree. Our strong and enthusiastic team is committed to developing the whole child and nurturing, in them, a life-long love of learning.

Judged to be GOOD overall by Ofsted (September 2013) and an OUTSTANDING church school (June 2013). St Luke's already has much to celebrate but we don't sit still … we are on a new journey.

Now with a new head and a new leadership team we are ready to become even better.

We are looking to appoint two full-time teachers, one to KS1 and one to KS2 who have the skills to work within dynamic, creative teaching teams to plan and deliver an exciting, innovative new curriculum.

One child told Ofsted that "This school will be my best childhood memory ever!" Our children need outstanding teachers who keep this a reality for the next generation.

Information about the School

St Luke's is at the heart of the village of Tiptree and is easily accessible from the A12 - a short commute from both Colchester and Chelmsford.

St Luke's Church Primary School was founded in 1863 to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England.

Following the reorganisation of many Church of England schools in the 1950's, St Luke's became a controlled school. This means that some of the governing body is drawn from the foundation, representing the Church of England, and the rest is made up of County nominated and other lay people.

The school occupies the site immediately adjacent to St Luke's Church, and this reinforces the feeling of community that we share.
