Catering Manager
23.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (required September 2022 or sooner if possible)
We are looking to appoint a Catering Manager, with successful experience of working in a busy school kitchen to lead our catering team. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed Catering Manager to join our school.
The successful candidate will provide a fantastic lunchtime experience for our children in our existing popular provision. Experience of working in a kitchen environment is essential and applicants should hold a level 3 food hygiene certificate - or be prepared to complete the course.
If you are an existing Catering Manager or an experienced Catering Assistant ready to take a step into leadership, we would love to hear from you. We are seeking someone with a flexible and positive attitude to work, with the ability to lead a team of two catering assistants and form good relationships with children and other staff members.
The core responsibilities include: -
- Planning and developing a balanced and nutritious menu - to include working with our children to enhance the provision
- Organising themed meals
- Budget management
- Ordering and control of stock
- Leading the catering team
- Compliance with food standards and hygiene regulations

Woodham Ley is a one form entry primary school, located in Benfleet, Essex. We are part of the Robus Multi Academy Trust.
The school is a bright and spacious building, with extensive grounds, including an excellent outdoor provision for the Early Years Department. In addition to the seven classrooms, there is an extended services hub and pre-school facility on site.
