Site Manager
Up to 37 hours per week - 52 weeks per year
Scale 5 (£20,493 - £21,748)
St Luke's Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and self-motivated team player to undertake this key role within our school. The successful applicant will understand the aims and priorities of the school in improving the environment for the children and take pride in their contribution to achieving this.
This role will involve a range of general caretaking tasks including general grounds and buildings maintenance, cleaning, portage, general security and liaison with contractors and suppliers and maintaining health and safety across the site to ensure the children are working within a safe environment.
In order to apply for this role, you must be able to demonstrate strong DIY & handyman skills. You must possess an awareness of COSHH, safe manual handling practices and health & safety.
There is flexibility in the role, and you will be responsible for making sure that yourself or a team member unlocks the premises at 7.00am and secures the premises at the end of the day. This flexibility can be expanded to the number of hours per week, but this will need to be discussed before interview. During the day you will be responsible for regular maintenance checks and follow-up actions across the school.
As you will be working with children the role is also subject to a DBS check.

St Luke's is at the heart of the village of Tiptree and is easily accessible from the A12 - a short commute from both Colchester and Chelmsford.
St Luke's Church Primary School was founded in 1863 to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England.
Following the reorganisation of many Church of England schools in the 1950's, St Luke's became a controlled school. This means that some of the governing body is drawn from the foundation, representing the Church of England, and the rest is made up of County nominated and other lay people.
The school occupies the site immediately adjacent to St Luke's Church, and this reinforces the feeling of community that we share.
