We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, resourceful and committed teacher to join our friendly and dedicated staff team. Applications are welcome from English teachers who would also be able to offer some KS3 Drama teaching, or Drama teachers equipped to deliver some KS3 English. We would be delighted to receive interest from both experienced and newly qualified teachers; the school offers an excellent induction for NQTs and would be able to support you through your first year. A commitment to raising standards and forming positive relationships with young people is essential.
Alec Hunter Academy is a mixed, oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school with an established reputation as a welcoming and forward-thinking learning community. Both our English and Performing Arts departments are supportive teams led by established professionals with a strong track record of successful outcomes.
Alec Hunter is a member of the Saffron Academy Trust, working in close partnership with a small family of schools in north-west Essex, including Saffron Walden County High, one of the highest performing schools in the county. Numerous opportunities for professional development exist through this partnership and our membership of several local networks.
Our school is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. A Disclosure and Barring Service check at enhanced level will be required for this post.
