Role: Learning Support Assistant - Part-time,Fixed term
Working hours:Monday - Friday - 08:30am - 3:30pm (including 45 minutes unpaid breaks), term time only plus non-pupil days
Salary: Band 2 - Point Range 3-5 (depending on experience)
Basis: Fixed term contract until the end of 2021-2022 academic year
Kents Hill Junior School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Learning Support Assistant.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with a child with both medical and special educational needs, or have an understanding of how these needs can affect child development, learning and relationships. They will be confident at following a medical Care Plan and One Plan.
The Learning Support Assistant's (LSA) main role is to provide support for a named pupil with complex medical needs and associated SEND. The LSA will ensure that the pupil can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress.
Duties will include supporting a range of activities throughout the day to assist the pupil's individual learning, physical and social needs. The LSA will be responsible for implementing the targets on the pupils' One Plan in liaison with the class teacher and Inclusion Manager as well as following their Care Plan.
The successful candidate will be: enthusiastic, positive, flexible and patient. They should be able to successfully work as part of a team, closely with parents and other agencies as well as having an open minded approach to learning.
