Group 2 School
NOR: 181
The Governors of Canvey Island Infant School are looking to appoint a new Headteacher with a strong sense of purpose and ambition who demonstrates a high level of commitment, drive and determination to ensure that all pupils get the best possible start in life. The current Headteacher is retiring after ten successful years in post, during which time the school has developed a clear sense of cohesion and consistency, with a focus upon continual school improvement. The school was rated as 'Good' in the most recent Ofsted Inspection (October 2019).
We pride ourselves on our imaginative curriculum and vibrant learning environment that reflects the very caring nature of the school. This is evident in the behaviour of our children who are kind, caring, thoughtful and who thoroughly enjoy coming to school. We are proud to call ourselves an 'inclusive' school, where everyone works hard to ensure that pupils, whatever their starting point, receive stimulating learning experiences. There is a tangible sense of team spirit that permeates the school and the enrichment activities encourage learning, which is evident in the children's personal development and achievement.
With your clear vision for the future, and your ability and understanding of how to build on existing good practice, you will help us achieve outstanding results. Along with your proven track record of leadership abilities and management skills, you will also be inspired, motivated and completely committed to ensuring all our children achieve their potential. In order to carry out the varied and rewarding work, you will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills, lots of imagination and commitment and a genuine passion for teaching. A very supportive Governing Board is on hand who is very much aware of the school's place in the local community.
Informal visits are warmly welcomed and can be arranged through the school office.
