Autism Lead

Northlands Primary School and Nursery are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic champion to support our pupils with Autism and Social, Communication difficulties. Our Champion will be working primarily with a group of foundation age pupils, providing stimulating activities to promote sensory and social play. The successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of the spectrum of needs associated with ASD and will be able to plan and deliver activities designed to enable pupils to make good progress. They will need to be able to assess how pupil's are progressing and be able to work and communicate with parents and staff effectively. Our Champion will need to be able to lead a small team of support staff who will be working together to support our younger pupils with Autism in the school's Bubble intervention. The role will also involve working across the school providing strategies and suport for older children with ASD. Our Champion will need to be fun, enthusiastic, a good communicator, a team player and be passionate about prioritising the needs of children with ASD.
