Our school is currently seeking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to work with targeted individuals so that they can reach their full potential and thrive in our school. Experience of understanding and supporting pupils with specific physical needs, learning difficulties, ASD, behavioural difficulties or social and emotional needs is desirable.
This role would suit somebody who demonstrates excellent empathy and has a commitment to a firm, clear, consistent approach to supporting pupils. Sunnymede Junior School is a good school (Ofsted, May 2018), committed to ensuring the very best opportunities for all its pupils.
This position (approximately 25 - 30 hours per week) is for a start in March 2019 but an earlier start would be welcome.
The successful candidate will:
-have a commitment to inclusion, supporting pupils in making the best possible progress
-put children at the centre of their work
-have a caring, patient and positive approach towards supporting pupils' learning and behaviour
-be committed to being part of a team as well as being able to work on their own initiative
-have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
-have knowledge and experience of working with pupils with special educational needs
