This OFSTED rated 'Good' Pre-School is looking for an exceptional Level 3 qualified Pre-School Practitioner to continue to improve it's standards and offer high quality education to families.

Term time only position.
40 hours per week.
5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata).
Brief description of responsibilities:

To assist with the planning of the curriculum using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance.
To help to set up the hall for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session (this involves moving and lifting large equipment).
To act as a key person to a group of children, liaising closely and building an effective relationship with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognised and met.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent) is essential.
Please note, a Health & Social Care qualification is not considered equivalent.
Excellent standard of written English essential
GCSE Maths and English at minimum Grade C is essential. (Please note, Functional Skills will not be considered as equivalent to GCSE's)
Previous experience of working with young children.
Sound knowledge of child development for children from birth to five years.
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Experience and knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Good communication skills
An understanding of play based approaches to children's learning and development
Commitment to equal opportunities
Commitment to working effectively with young children and families
Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships
Willingness to provide cover in the absence of co-workers and be flexible with working arrangements according to the needs of the setting
Ability to support and encourage Pre-School Assistants and unqualified staff by being a positive role model in the setting
