Aims and Visions

Our aim is to improve the life chances for all children in Essex by raising achievement, developing social and educational inclusion and ensuring the welfare of our young people. Our vision is that every child and young person will have a life of quality, free from fear, depression and danger, with a sense of belonging, worth and achievement.

We want young people to develop a love of learning. To achieve this we need teachers of the highest quality, with ability and imagination, who will inspire and challenge our children to achieve their potential and contribute to their changing world. We hope that our teachers will remain life long learners; we encourage and support them to be reflective practitioners.

We believe that teachers are entitled to the best Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities available. Essex provides our teachers, schools, children’s centres and other educational settings with a high level of support. Our School Improvement and Early Years Services provide a range of CPD opportunities for all teachers and advice and support from highly professional staff. Our SEN and Pupils with Additional Needs Services support schools and other educational settings in meeting particular needs and developing inclusive practice.
