If you are moving to Essex to take up a post in a school in the County and are looking for somewhere to live, you can use the Rental Property Search page to view details of properties that are currently available to rent.

(Landlords - accommodation is urgently required for teachers in Essex.  Do you have a property or spare room to let, or do you know of accommodation that is available?  If so, please complete the Landlord Registration page and submit your advertisement.)

If you are an NQT moving to Essex to teach in a secondary school or a special school with secondary age pupils, you may be eligible to claim resettlement grant of up to £750 including VAT if you meet the criteria of the scheme.  If you are moving to Essex to take up a leadership post in a secondary school or a special school with secondary age pupils, you may be eligible to claim up to £1,500.  Please visit the Resettlement page for details.  Please note that these incentives are not available to staff taking up posts in academies.

If you are a headteacher who needs to move to the County to take up your appointment you may be eligible for a relocation payment of up to £2,500 including VAT.  Details of the scheme may be viewed on the Relocation page.  Please note that this incentive is not available to headteachers appointed to academies.
